Announcement of ACCIS' new board of directors
Dear Members of ACCIS,
I write to share exciting news! Thanks to the efforts this summer of two loyal members of the Executive Committee, Eric Monheim of Sidwell Friends School and Betsy Dolan of Phillips Exeter Academy, who sought nominations and managed the entire process for electing the school representatives for our ACCIS inaugural Board of Directors, we have the results!
Additionally, before sharing the results of our Board elections let me a take a minute to express my sincere gratitude to all who nominated colleagues, all who considered nomination, and the final nine candidates for their willingness to serve the organization at this critical juncture. It is the commitment and care of colleagues like Carl Ahlgren, Betsy Beck, Toby Brewster, David Burke, Rhody Davis, Ed Graf, Marcia Hunt, Bruce Hunter and Hector Martinez that will both energize and sustain this great organization. I so appreciate their collective spirit and generosity.
Beyond the excitement of being able to name the first Board, I am pleased to report the enthusiastic participation of the membership in the elections. Ninety-nine different schools from across the country are represented in the election results - a tremendous response. I thank you all for your interest.
The ACCIS Board Members from the General Membership are:
Carl Ahlgren, Gilman School, MD
Rhody Davis, Viewpoint School, CA
Bruce Hunter, Rowland Hall St. Marks School, UT
The ACCIS Board Members from the Founding School are:
Marcia Hunt, Pinecrest School, FL
Hector Martinez, Webb Schools, CA
We hope to identify and include the final three or so Board members, knowledgeable experts from outside the membership who understand schools, legal and non-profit business issues, within the next few weeks. The Board will meet for the first time late this month at NACAC. I look forward to the exciting work that lies ahead for the Board and for all of ACCIS.
See you all in Seattle.
Best wishes,
Marty Elkins
Executive Director
