Co-director of College Counseling

Phoenix Country Day School--a PK-12, coeducational, non-sectarian day school of approximately 725 students located in Paradise Valley, a suburb of Phoenix, AZ--is seeking a full-time Co-Director of College Counseling to officially commence work on July 1, 2012.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced independent school leader committed to excellence in all areas of education.  Responsibilities include advising an assigned group of juniors and seniors and their families through the college process, writing letters of recommendation, participating in public presentations on the college process, and assisting in the seasonal tasks of the annual counseling and admissions cycle.  Other duties may include teaching, coaching, academic advising, co-leading outdoor education trips and/or advising clubs.  The successful counselor will have a lively intelligence, a strong work ethic, a commitment to an evolving Upper School curriculum, an ability to work and communicate well with a variety of constituents, and a good sense of humor.
