Summer Institute

The 2010 ACCIS Summer Institute is off to a terrific start under the leadership of Gavin Bradley (Pace Academy), Burke Rogers (St. George's School), and Jenny Byers (Harpeth Hall School). Over 100 ACCIS members from across the country are in attendance soaking up the amazing sessions on topics ranging from the role of testing in the admissions process to the reality of economics on college campuses.

Greetings from the ACCIS Summer Institute in Atlanta – We are excited to announce that attendance for this year's ACCIS Summer Institute will be the largest ever. 117 independent school college counselors will participate in what promises to be a great event. Here are some final INSTRUCTIONS for ARRIVALS. If you are DRIVING in, your best option is to park your car in the Parking Deck on the west side of campus. You can view an Agnes Scott CAMPUS MAP at: http://www.agnesscott.edu/Media/Website%20Resources/pdf/campusmap.pdf REGISTRATION will be held in the Evans Dining Hall in the center of the Agnes Scott Campus. We will have the check-in desk open at noon and it will remain staffed until dinner begins at 7pm. If you arrive after 7 pm please go directly to Rebekah Scott Hall and join us for dinner (which will conclude around 9 pm). Evans Dining Hall is #25 on the Campus Map link above. Everyone is invited to a COCKTAIL RECEPTION beginning at 6 PM on the McCain Library Terrace. McCain Library is #19 on the Campus Map. DINNER will be held in Rebekah Scott Hall from 7 to 9 PM. Rebekah Scott Hall is #2 on the Campus Map. We will gather after dinner for further fun and frivolity in the ACCIS SOCIAL SUITE located in the Alston Campus Center. The Alston Campus Center is #20 on the Campus Map. LATE ARRIVALS can be accommodated at all hours. UNTIL MIDNIGHT, please contact Libby Petroskey on the ACCIS cell, or Gavin Bradley, Jenny Byers, or Burke Rogers at the numbers listed above. AFTER MIDNIGHT, go to the Campus Security office located on the west side of campus next to the parking deck. They will have a room assignment list and will escort you safely to your room. All participants will have a SINGLE ROOM in one of the Agnes Scott DORMS. Beds will be made for us on arrival and towels provided in the rooms as well. DRESS for the Institute is CASUAL. There will be plenty of air-conditioning, but it gets HOT in Atlanta! FINAL AGENDAS & ROOM LOCATIONS will be available at Registration. Well, we hope that this just about covers it!
