Colloquium, University of Denver, CO
July 24 - 27, 2017

ACCIS will host our summer Colloquium at the University of Denver. The Colloquium will kick off with a full program at DU, including a case study roundtable discussion led by the Denver admissions team, and will be followed by a full afternoon at the Colorado School of Mines. For the second half of the program, we will welcome back Dave Mochel of Applied Attention, who, over the course of three 3-hour sessions, will focus on wellbeing in schools. (Attendance at last year's Rhode Island colloquium on mindfulness is not required, and those who did attend will not find this program repetitive.) Attendees should plan to be in Denver by 2:00 pm on Monday, July 24th; the program will conclude at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 27th. All meals will be covered except an evening dinner in downtown Denver. Single occupancy residence hall rooms and air-conditioning for all. A draft schedule can be found here

Come join us for two in-depth college tours, a provocative program led by an outstanding mindfulness professional, and some reaffirming ACCIS collegiality. Cost is $450 per attendee ($350 for commuters). Attendees are expected to participate in all Colloquium events.

For questions please email Kelly Richards or Jessica Raab.

New Directors of College Counseling Workshop
July 30-August 1, 2017
The Westminster Schools, Atlanta, GA

ACCIS is pleased to announce the New Directors’ Workshop to support new directors of college counseling in our member schools. This program will be an intentional gathering to assist directors (or those with equivalent titles) with 0-3 years of experience in that role. This workshop is geared toward those with prior college counseling experience in schools; for directors brand new to college counseling in independent schools, the Pre-Institute for New College Counselors may be the preferred choice, but is not a prerequisite for this program.

For more information and the tentative schedule, please see the program flyer, and feel free to contact ACCIS Executive Director Emmi Harward with questions.
