Welcome back to school and happy birthday ACCIS!

I prefer the Beatles version with a bit of a twist. “They say it’s your birthday.” The lyrics are not anything terribly creative, but the energy of the lads from Liverpool sure beats the more traditional rendition.
Our annual meeting in Denver in a few weeks will mark our fifth anniversary! Please join me now in a virtual toast in celebration (coffee, tea, or water will do for now) and if you are going to be in the mile high city for NACAC, plan on connecting with ACCIS for our annual meeting and our Birthday party!
Whether you have been with ACCIS since the beginning, or just joined within in the last few days, I hope that you share my enthusiasm for this vital and enormously vibrant organization. The progress we have made since our inception is truly amazing and something of which we should all be tremendously proud.
While celebration is most certainly a theme for ACCIS as we begin the school year, it is critical that we do not rest on our collective laurels as an organization. There is work to be done on all fronts if we are to truly realize the goals established in our founding. Whether it comes through volunteering your help or participating in one of our college tours, a new counselor support call, a post on our elist, the Summer Institute or any of the myriad other opportunities available through your organization, I hope that you will make the 2012 – 2013 a bigger year for you and ACCIS.
See you soon. I hope.
